Cleveland mocks

A win for the dead-tree media: Following the Cleveland Cavaliers’ NBA championship on Sunday, Cleveland’s daily paper, the Plain Dealer, was deluged with requests for reprints, running nearly a half-million copies compared to its usual 36,000.

Less successful were the would-be entrepreneurs who tried to sell screenshots from their iPhones of the Plain Dealer’s coverage.

And he used Auto-Tune on the frogs: Neil Young’s latest album, “Earth,” features 13 live performances. The tracks are interspersed with the sounds of crickets, frogs, crows, bees and other wildlife he recorded in his backyard.

Young had a little difficulty but agreed when the crows demanded union scale as session musicians.

Smells like teen spirit: New York City lawmakers have passed legislation to distribute free tampons and sanitary pads at public schools, shelters and jails, part of a push to eliminate the sales tax on the items.

In response, Texas is considering a law that would make Axe deodorant body spray available for free to guys at gyms, auto parts stores and singles bars.
