From Sicily to St. Petersburg, Barcelona to Belgrade, Scotland to Spain.
Travel guru Rick Steves and his tour guides have traveled the world over and want to share their travel savvy with you in a free all-day event that promises to leave you with lots of facts, advice and discoveries.
The daylong travel festival, “Test Drive a Tour Guide + Tour Reunion Parties,” starts at 9 a.m. Jan. 16 at three locations in downtown Edmonds.
The event will take participants to Europe’s top tour destinations for 2010, and the tour guides — 80 are flying in from around the globe — will present slide shows and vivid previews of where each tour takes you. There will also be time to chat with the guides and ask questions.
All talks are free and the three venues are only three blocks from each other: Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N; Edmonds Theater, 415 Main St.; and the Edmonds Conference Center Orchid Room, 201 Fourth Ave. N.
Steves will present several of the tours including a 9 a.m. presentation, “Best of Italy”; an 11:30 a.m. program, “Spain With Morocco”; a 2 p.m. tour of Florence, Rome and Venice; and a 6:30 p.m. presentation, “An Irreverent History of Rick’s Tours.”
All of Steves’ programs will be at Edmonds Center for the Arts.
