If you and your family are looking for a fun way to kick-start the health engine at your house, you might want to check out the Youth Fitness Expo on Saturday at Comcast Arena.
This is being billed as an interactive fitness event where the message is “Learn today … do today.”
The expo introduces kids and their families to cutting-edge trends in sports, nutrition and fitness while imparting the importance of nutrition and overall health.
The Youth Expo provides a chance for visitors to delve into many different sports and fitness options that they can explore in greater detail.
Exhibitors range from archery, jazz dance and karate to ballet, boxing and wall climbing.
There will also be resources and exhibitions on baseball and basketball, cheerleading, fly fishing, lacross, karate, golf, gymnastics, rock band, ropes courses and sports physical therapy.
The event is free and the first 1,000 kids at the event with a registration confirmation will receive a free 2012 Youth Fitness Expo logo item.
Other registration prizes are a free one-year YMCA family membership, a week at rock band camp and gift certificates.
Special guests are also scheduled to appear at this year’s expo: the Washington Stealth mascot, Bomber the Fox; the youth rock band School of Rock; and Kermit Cannon, fitness trainer and author of “The Beast Factory.”
The Youth Fitness Expo runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Comcast Arena in Everett, 2000 Hewitt Ave.
The event is free and geared for kids 5 to 18 and their families.
