In this comedy that explores the issues of free will and fatalism through strange luck, blind dates, drinking games and Joyce Carol Oates, one might be left with this haunting question: Who is driving this bus, anyway?
In “Recent Tragic Events,” writer Craig Wright, whose credits include “Orange Flower Water” and HBO’s “Six Feet Under,” uses his comic touch to throw an absurdist light on our lives in the aftermath of Sept. 11.
This Odd Duck Theatre production is directed by Jeffrey Woodbridge, who has been on stage or behind the scenes in numerous productions in Seattle and Philadelphia. His most recent productions include “The Masters” by Jesse Putnam and “Riches” by Lee Blessing.
“Recent Tragic Events” opens at 7 p.m. Thursday at Odd Duck Studio, 1214 10th Ave., Seattle. Shows are at various times through April 4.
Tickets are $10 and $15. Go to www.brownpapertickets. com/event/96020 or www.recenttragicevents.net/.
