Sample sale: The Seattle Design Center will open to the public for its annual sample sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 5701 Sixth Ave. S., Seattle.
Floor samples, including high-end furnishings, accessories, art and rugs, will be available in select showrooms at the center, which is usually a members-only deal.

Home run: The 65th anniversary Seattle Home Show will be Feb. 14 to 22 at Qwest Field Event Center in Seattle. This year’s show will feature more than 600 displays of home and garden products plus an Idea Street of model homes.
This year’s show will emphasize smaller homes, improving the home you have in a tight economy, saving money with efficient appliances and eco-building techniques.
Showgoers will also have access to free seminars with experts, kitchen and bath vignettes, arts and crafts inspiration, home decorating ideas and a wine-tasting area.
