For the second year, the people who run the Oso Mill are hosting an open house complete with mill demonstrations and chain saw carving competitions.
The free event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, when an auction is scheduled for all the chain saw sculpture creations.
The Oso Mill started in 1954 as a shingle mill. Today a variety of products are made there, including wood-slab tables, beams for bridges and siding for homes.
Food will be available for purchase.
Last year about 400 people stopped by. This year’s event is expected to be even bigger.
Oso Mill is at 22205 Highway 530 NE in Oso. For more information call 360-631-9212.
