Members of American Legion Post No. 178 were meeting tonight in their new hall on Eighth St. in Marysville to install new officers. They were Harmon Pearson, Roy Haugen, William Erickson, Donald Blair, Jack Lindborg, Brad Bartlett, Arthur Nelson, Clarence Marsh, Jack Cave and Adolph Lundstedt.
25 years ago (1987)
Among local Army folks serving in West Germany were Robert W. Barton II, of Lake Stevens, a staff sergeant and gunnery crew member; Pvt. Randie D. Gamber, of Lynnwood, a medical laboratory specialists; and Pvt. Robert L. Hermansen, also of Lynnwood, a storage and handling specialist.
Melody Hill Elementary, on 6.4 acres at 220th St. and the freeway, was taken off the auction block by the Edmonds School Board. It had been up for sale with a price tag of $800,000, but the board reconsidered, rejecting all offers until the future of the district’s headquarters was decided.
