50 years ago (1962)
Lloyd Meeds, Everett attorney, and Lloyd G. Alkire, Lynnwood city councilman, would direct the Washington State Heart Association’s February campaign in Snohomish County, Dr. Ralph D. Brown, Snohomish County Heart Council president, announced today. Meeds would be chairman for north county and Alkire for south.
Election of officers would take place at the meeting of the Cascade (Everett) Division, National Electrical Contractors Association at the Rip Van Winkle. Outgoing officers were M.W. Gillard of Marysville Electric, Don Black of Judd &Black and Sam Ewing of Ewing Electric. Following the election would be a program on explosion proof electrical equipment.
25 years ago (1987)
Mary Davis Hall was plunging into her new job this week, that of Mukilteo city supervisor. She envisioned days starting with a morning jog and ending with an after-hours meeting with citizens at her home. In between there would be rounds of meetings, conferences and phone calls.
Sharion Collman and Leon Church were elected to the board of the Washington Extension Agents Association. Collman was an entomologist and Church a staff chairman, both with the Snohomish County WSU unit.
