Get ready for droll absurdity: season two of “Flight of the Conchords” is scheduled to premiere Sunday on HBO.
The story picks up where last season left off: Jemaine and Bret, struggling New Zealand musicians living in New York City, are being upstaged by the Crazy Dogs, a group made up of musicians that the two friends played with in the season one finale.
While the episode sees broadcast on Sunday, HBO already released it to the Internet. You can watch the whole thing below, after checking out an old clip from T.I. and a new clip from Franz Ferdinand.
T.I. – “Whatever You Like” – Video
This video, which inspired a mediocre Obama-themed spoof, is worth revisiting. T.I. plays the part of a dream guy for a fast food worker in the clip. It’s somewhat sweet — maybe an effort to make T.I. look less like a machine gun-toting felon? — and there’s a twist at its end.
Franz Ferdinand – Ulysses – Video
Franz Ferdinand sing, “Let’s get high,” in the first single off of “Tonite: Franz Ferdinand.” The video doesn’t make that sound like too much fun (putting the bed jumping aside), as the guys stagger around, looking untoward. The slinky track isn’t the group’s strongest material, and this clip isn’t its most fun, but then, the group has some strong material and fun videos.
Flight of the Conchords – Episode 1 – Show
Here it is, the first episode of Flight of the Conchords new season, which finds a rift developing between the folk parody duo and their manager, Murray, on account of his work with the Crazy Dogs.
