Camano Island: State park to host event

A fun-filled day of activities at Cama Beach State Park on Camano Island is planned for 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in honor of the 99th birthday of state parks.

The event features trail and beach walks, talks about area flora, geocaching demonstrations and dancing to live music. Park staff will provide free popcorn and cupcakes.

Additional information about the event can be found at www.cama Friends of the park are working with staff to offer this public event.

March 18 and 19 are state parks “free days,” when the Discover Pass will not be required.

Everett: Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

The VFW Post 2100 is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day dinner from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, at 2711 Oakes Ave., Everett. Cost is $10.

Lakewood: Information night

The Lakewood School District open house and community information night is 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lakewood High School, 17023 11th Ave. NE.

The event includes kindergarten registration, eighth-grade parent information, entertainment, tours of the high school and informational tables manned by people involved in many community and school activities.

Lake Stevens: All-you-can-eat pancakes

The Ebenezer Lutheran Church is holding its Norwegian Pancake Breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, at 2111 117th Ave. SE, Lake Stevens.

The all-you-can-eat pancakes come with ham and strawberries. Cost is $5 per person. Children younger than 4 eat free.

Marysville: State Knowledge Bowl

The state Knowledge Bowl championships for 2A, 3A and 4A high schools are Saturday at Marysville Pilchuck High School, located at 5611 108th St. NE.

This is the first time the championships have been held in the northwest corner of the state.

More than 50 teams from more than 300 high schools are set compete, including those from Kamiak, Lake Stevens, Monroe, Stanwood and Woodinville high schools.

Quizzes are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., the final championship round is set for 2:30 p.m. and winners are to be announced about 3:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

The Darrington High School Knowledge Bowl team is participating in the small high school championship in Spokane.

Snohomish: Girl Scouts open house

Girl Scouts, current and former, are invited to celebrate the 100th birthday of Girl Scouts USA at an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Snohomish Senior Center, 506 Fourth St., Snohomish.

Meet local Girl Scouts, learn about their current programs and activities and share your Scouting experiences.
