YAKIMA — A barista working at a Yakima espresso stand has fought off an armed gunman who ordered a mocha and then knocked her down.
Annie Pickerington, who runs the Mudd Puddle Espresso stand, said she made a man a drink Saturday afternoon.
She said she was giving him change when he jumped through the window of the espresso stand. She also noticed he had a gun.
Pickerington told KNDO-TV that he threw her down on the ground and gunshots went off.
She managed to get up and ran out the door.
The suspect ran away, and police say he didn’t get any money.
Pickerington has only minor injuries.
