LYNNWOOD — A forum featuring candidates for state and federal office will be held Sept. 15 at Edmonds Community College.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon in Woodway Hall. The campus is located at 20000 68th Ave. in Lynnwood.
The forum is focusing on contests whose winners will represent residents of south Snohomish County in either Olympia or Washington D.C. Candidates who will be attending include Dan Matthews, a Republican competing in the 2nd Congressional District and state Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe, D-Bothell, who serves in the 1st Legislative District.
Also confirmed are state Rep. Luis Moscoso, D-Mountlake Terrace, and his opponent, Republican Mark Davies of Bothell, and Rep. Marko Liias, D-Edmonds, and his opponent, Republican Kevin Morrison of Edmonds.
Sponsors include the community college, the City of Lynnwood, the League of Women Voters, the American Association of University Women and the Communities of Color Coalition. Other sponsors are the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People of Snohomish County, Latino Education and Training Institute, the Equity Alliance for Achievement and the Black Policy Foundation.
