ARLINGTON — Students at Arlington High School have a new principal this year.
Already on the job is Brian Beckley, who was the principal at Post Middle School for the past four years.
Beckley brings with him Assistant Principal Voni Walker, who served as vice principal at Post Middle.
Former Principal Kurt Criscione now works in the school district administration office.
On the high school’s website, Beckley said he looks forward to meeting the students and their parents, though he knows many of them from his years at Post Middle.
“Involving parents in the daily learning process is one of the most effective ways to improve students’ performance,” Beckley said. “So we invite parents, community members and other educators to join the Arlington High School Eagle family and become partners in the learning process.”
In other changes around the district:
Faye Britt has moved from the high school to Haller Middle School as an assistant principal.
Alan Boatman has moved from Haller Middle to Post Middle to serve as assistant principal.
Amie Verellen-Grubbs, who worked in the district’s administration office for three years, is the new principal at Weston High School. Former Principal Maurene Stanton took a position outside the district.
Ed Aylesworth, former principal of Trafton Elementary, continues his work as principal for Stillaguamish Valley School and is now director of food services for the district.
