Everett shooting victim identified; boyfriend in jail

EVERETT — Officials have identified a 19-year-old woman who was shot and killed last week at her north Everett apartment.

The Dec. 15 death of Payton J. Beck-Glessner was ruled a homicide, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office determined. Beck-Glessner graduated last year from Bothell High School.

Her boyfriend, 22, was arrested in connection with the killing. He told police he was playing with the gun and didn’t mean for it to go off. He remains in the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of second-degree manslaughter. The allegation means police believe he caused the death due to criminal negligence.

The investigation is ongoing.
