Mardi Gras: Edmonds Lutheran Church hosts “Mardi Gras Sunday” with a special service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday that features the Uptown, Lowdown, Dixieland Jazz ensemble playing traditional New Orleans-style jazz as well as accompanying familiar hymns. A “Fat Tuesday” pancake breakfast runs before and after the service, 9:30 a.m.-noon.

Men’s retreat: The Men’s Advance, an all-ages retreat for Christian men, is set for March 7-9 at Warm Beach Camp, 20800 Marine Drive in Stanwood. World Day of Prayer: A worship service and program of events celebrating the World Day of Prayer will be held at 9:30 a.m. March 8 at Arlington United Church, 338 N. McLeod Ave. This year’s international program was written by congregations in Egypt and include a history of Christianity in Egypt up to the Arab Spring uprising. Comedy night: A free family-friendly comedy night with comedian and author Dennis Swanberg is set for 5 p.m. March 9 at The Grove Church, 4705 Grove St., Marysville. Women’s lunch: The next Mill Creek Christian Women’s Connection luncheon, on the theme of “Changes,” is set for 11:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. March 13 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 20610 44th Ave. W., Lynnwood. ‘Covenantal Knowing’: Ester Lightcap Meek, a professor of philosophy at Geneva College, will be preaching and teaching March 9 at First Presbyterian Church, 2934 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Kabbalah: Chabad Jewish Center in Lynnwood offers “Soul Maps,” a class series that focuses on the wisdom of the Kabbalah. The six-part series will be held 7:15-8:45 p.m. Tuesdays, March 4 to April 8. Other classes also are available. The classes are free, but donations to the church food bank are encouraged.

GriefShare, Marysville: Mountain View Presbyterian Church hosts the support group 1:30-3:30 p.m. Thursdays through May 22. Registration is recommended. Clothing, Clearview: A free clothing bank with clothing for men, women and children is open 10 a.m.-noon the first Tuesday of each month at the Clearview Gospel Hall, 17826 180th St. SE, Snohomish. More info: Dawn, 360-668-0836.

Clothing, Lake Stevens: Sanctuary Ministries provides gently used clothes from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursdays in its Care Center at 15533 75th St. NE, between Lake Stevens and Granite Falls. Limit two bags per visit. Donations of clothing, bedding and shoes welcome. More info: 360-386-9871.

Clothing, Marysville: Kloz 4 Kidz is a free clothing resource center for kids in north Snohomish County. Open three days a week. Located behind Marysville United Methodist Church, 5600 64th St. NE. Call for an appointment: 360-658-1021.

Loaves and Fishes: A free community supper is offered 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays at Sultan Community United Methodist Church, 212 Birch St., Sultan.

Meals, clothes, dental: Gold Creek Community Church provides a free hot meal and sack lunches, 5-6 p.m. the first, third and fifth Sunday of the month at Central Lutheran Church, 2702 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Clothes available some days. Qualified people can sign up for free urgent dental care from a dental van that comes monthly. Ask Jessica for details and how to sign up.

Salt of the Earth: Soup kitchen is open at noon Tuesdays at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2531 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Free sack lunches or hot meals served to the homeless, low-income seniors and families, and kids on the street. Volunteers needed. More info: Sandra, 425-355-1042.
