Forks fire burns store that sold Twilight relics

FORKS — A fire in Forks has destroyed two buildings, including one known as the Twilight store because is sold souvenirs from the Twilight movie series, set in the Olympic Peninsula town.

Clallam County Fire District 1 Chief Phil Arbeiter said the fire was reported before 4 a.m. Monday.

It started in a three-story wooden building known as the Oddfellows building. Arbeiter says it housed a theater group and Hispanic grocery. The fire spread to the adjacent Twilight store, which was not in operation.

No one was in the buildings at the time. No firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The fire cut a power line and that caused the Quillayute Valley School District to cancel classes Monday at the elementary, middle and high school.
