Open Gate Farm offers a one-day plant sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 269 Russell Road, Camano Island.
Potted rhubarb plants will go for $8 and $10 each, and potted plum trees, Shasta daisies, gladiola bulbs (not potted) and some lettuce starts will be available.
Owner Jon Stevens says some of the rhubarb are big enough to get at least one pie from this year.

Free health screenings: An annual event, Girls to Grandmothers and Grandpa Too, offers 13 health screenings from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in Everett. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Citrine Health, 2817 Rockefeller Ave.
The tests include checks for bone density, vision and hearing, heart rate, blood pressure, lung function, and blood glucose. Height and weight measurements will be offered as well.

Dental care for kids: Toothapalooza is for 5:30 to 9 tonight at Imagine Children’s Museum, 1502 Wall St., Everett.
It’s free. Kids sit in a dentist chair for a mini exam performed by one of six dentists. Planned are educational activities about the importance of good dental care, including experiments on how certain foods affect our teeth, the effects of sugar, how much sugar is in some foods and beverages, and the protective power of fluoride.
Each participating child gets a dental-health goodie bag containing a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss.
