EDMONDS — An Eastern Washington man is expected to survive after being struck by a car in Edmonds on Friday night.
The 47-year-old from Kettle Falls suffered multiple broken bones and a head injury, according to the Edmonds Police Department. He was unconscious when he was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
As of Monday, the man’s injuries still are being described as serious, Edmonds police Sgt. Josh McClure said.
The driver, who stayed at the scene, was a woman in her 30s from Everett. Alcohol was not suspected as a factor.
The crash was reported about 9 p.m. Friday in the 23800 block of Highway 99. Police believe the man was not in a crosswalk at the time. There were multiple witnesses in the area who have been interviewed, McClure said. Detectives have not made a decision on whether to issue any citation in connection with the crash.
The northbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours for the investigation.
