VANCOUVER, Wash. — The federal government and Kaiser have agreed to pay Vancouver $383,000 to reimburse the city for the cost of monitoring old World War II shipyard debris buried near Marine Park boat landing.
The Columbian reported that officials decided to leave the 60-year-old debris where it is and to monitor test wells to make sure it doesn’t contaminate groundwater.
