CAMANO ISLAND — Officials now know the identity of the man found dead on the west side of Camano Island on Friday afternoon.
The body was found not far from Cama Beach State Park around 2 p.m. The Island County Sheriff’s Office released a detailed description Saturday in hopes of identifying the man, who was estimated to be between his late 40s and early 60s.
The man was wearing a “UNLV Running Rebels” sweatshirt and a dark T-shirt with colorful children’s hand prints and the words “Dad” and “Love Paul” on it.
The man’s name, age and hometown have not yet been released. The sheriff’s office needs to notify the family first, detective Ed Wallace said.
The cause and manner of death are not known but it is not being investigated as a crime.
“We’re not looking at it as a criminal case at this point,” Wallace said.
