50 years ago (1964)
Ken Baker, Snohomish County Coroner, met with Glen McDonald, Vancouver, B.C., coroner, to discuss the International Coroner’s Convention which would take place in August in Vancouver. McDonald was a guest speaker here at the weekend meeting of the Washington State Coroners Association. Baker was president of the state group.
Mt. Pilchuck PTA of Lake Stevens met in the school multi-purpose room. D.D. Oates spoke on the building program. Vera Ellis talked on physical fitness. A nominating committee was selected and officers would be elected next month.
25 years ago (1989)
The Snohomish County Business Expo ‘89 would be held Feb. 22 and 23 at the Everett Pacific Hotel. The Everett Chamber of Commerce and Profile Publishing co-sponsored the show. Admission was free. For more information those interested could contact Tom Welsh.
The Everett Travel Bureau was recently purchased by the Washington Mutual Financial Group. They had changed their name to Mutual Travel and moved into a new office in the lobby of Washington Mutual Savings Bank in Everett. Dave Cameron and Joe’l Wiest, previous owners, were working as travel consultants for the new firm.
