50 years ago (1963)
E. Ross McIvor, retired Simpson Lee Paper Co. employee who lived at 555 Pilchuck Path, was awarded the Everett Junior Chamber of Commerce citizen title at a noon luncheon today at the Elks Home.
Todd Wallenberg, captain of the Jackson School Safety Patrol helped announced the opening of the 1963 School Patrol stickers sales drive. The purpose of the drive was to replenish the patrol’s recreation fund by the sale of black and white stickers to motorists in the community.
25 years ago (1988)
Those placing recently in the recent Herald fishing contest were Mike McDowell, Ted Fox, Christine Chappon, Ken Schroeder, Time Cleator, Bob Noel, Dan Cartwright, John Godfrey, Gordon Rose, Steve Erickson, William Richardson, Michael Davis, Laverne James, Ed Gorney, Ray Lampers, Shannon Hamms, Carole Eastabrook, Troy Pitman, Max Schwald, Ed Tissue, Ruth Petit, Douglas Holiman and Glenn Wiggins.
County recreational trails were proposed in Mountlake Terrace and Lynnwood on the old Everett-Seattle interurban route, from Snohomish to Edgecomb on the old Northern Pacific route, and south of Monroe on the old Milwaukee Road route.
