SEATTLE — Police say a south Seattle grocery owner grabbed a 2-by-4 piece of wood and charged a gun-wielding robber who demanded that an employee hand over money from the cash register.
The robber ran, followed by store owner Gemere Amara, who chased the man out of the store and down the street. At one point, police said the robber fired two shots at Amara, but both missed. The man then jumped into a car with another man and raced off.
KOMO-TV reported that Amara said he was just trying to protect himself and his Victory Grocery on Monday night.
The store owner said it was a scary encounter. And he said he’s going to buy a gun.
