Please recognize the volunteers in your life

Volunteers ar critical to our way of life. They help our community in many ways. They assist our schools, provide frist aid, and support city events.

Volunteers help in schools. Our Parent-Teacher Organization is all parent volunteers and teachers. Since the school has a tight budget, the school rounds up the volunteers for services. The walk-a-thon, Time for Kids, the SES school carnival, and fundraisers are all from the PTO. Without these good-hearted friends of the school, we wouldn’t have the fantastic things that we do.

Along with the school district, volunteers give their time with first aid. They help in hospitals, whether it be reading to a patient or helping them walk. No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. Volunteer firefighters reach out their hands to friends, neighbors and all people in between.

There are special organizations in nearly every community. They use volunteers in many events, such as National Night Out, to name one. At Winterfest, there are lots of volunteers, just like the Shindig. It’s not just Sultan though, as you know. Volunteering is universal. But where would we be without volunteers?

Without volunteers, we wouldn’t be where we are as a country. We make a living by what we do, but we make a life by what we give. Please recognize the volunteers in your life.
