Going, going gone. The M’s have finally fired someone as their depressing season continues to be as dreary as the recent weather. However, you can bet the weather will get better as summer wears on. The odds aren’t so good on the Mariners.
Another reason to exercise: It might help prevent addictions to drug and alcohol. Exactly how this works isn’t clear. One hypothesis, though, is that an exerciser’s addiction to sports drinks, spendy running shoes, electronic gadgets and fitness magazines doesn’t leave room for any other fixations.
Speaking of addictions, Energy drinks are mighty popular. One of them, FRS, is even endorsed by Lance Armstrong. Before you run out to buy some, however, remember what Lance likes to do: Ride a bike up a whole country’s worth of hills that would kill the engine in a Lamborghini.
McDonald’s has taken tomatoes off its burgers after salmonella outbreaks linked to the veggies. Now you can eat any burger at the chain without any fear of getting a single ounce of nutrition.
