Former AquaSox suspended for 50 games

NEW YORK — Seattle Mariners minor-league outfielders Jabari Blash and Jamal Austin have been suspended 50 games each for drug violations.

The commissioner’s office announced the penalties Friday, saying the suspensions followed second positive tests for a “drug of abuse.”

Blash, a former Everett AquaSox, is on the roster of the Class AAA Tacoma Rainiers of the Pacific Coast League. Austin is on the roster of the Class AA Jackson Generals of the Southern League, and.
