PRINCE GEORGE, British Columbia — Carter Hart recorded his first shutout of the season and 20th of his career and Matt Fonteyne scored a goal and added an assist to lift the Everett Silvertips to a 4-0 victory over the Prince George Cougars before a crowd of 3,389 at CN Centre on Saturday night.
The Tips seized three points in a possible total of four on their only two-game visit to Prince George this season, and are unbeaten in regulation for five of the past six games against the Cougars. Kevin Davis, Sean Richards and Riley Sutter added second-period goals.
Hart’s shutout moved him one shy of Leland Irving’s franchise record (21), while Patrick Bajkov’s assist moved him to third on the Tips’ all-time scoring list with 215 points, surpassing Shane Harper.
The Silvertips return home for three games in a five-day span, starting at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday when they host the Prince Albert Raiders in the only meeting between the two teams this season.
