Runners crowded the bridge on the north end of Marine View Drive during Stroh’s Run for Liberty yesterday in Everett. Despite chilly weather, some 1,600 people covered the 8 kilometers to raise money for renovation of the 96-year-old Statue of Liberty.
A front-page story in The Herald told of the demise of Route 66, a highway made famous in song, story and television.
