You’ve probably heard about it by now, but amidst all the fretting over Percy Harvin’s hip and Sidney Rice’s knee/Swiss adventures, another Seahawks receiver is quietly having one hell of a training camp: second-year wideout Jermaine Kearse.
Seahawks.com looks at the new Leave No Doubt 24/7 mantra we’ve been seeing on shirts worn by player and coaches this summer.
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com was in town Tuesday, and has this video on how the Seahawks are adjusting to the loss of Harvin.
ESPN had a brief interview with Russell Wilson on SportsCenter yesterday.
And you’ll notice Wilson says, going back to the age of 10, he’d write it down when people told him he couldn’t do things like play Division-I football. Which of course brings up the question, who the heck tells a 10-year-old he’s not good enough to play college football. That’s just mean.
A day after Sports Illustrated included Golden Tate on the offense of its all-underrated team, it put Seahawks D-lineman Michael Bennett on the defense.
Peter King has a mailbag at TheMMQB.com, and includes a little info on Percy Harvin, writing:
GM John Schneider and coach Pete Carroll thought the offense lacked explosiveness, which it did. Lots of what happened last year, particularly late in the season, was Russell Wilson getting comfortable with the offense and forming a bond with some good receivers. To take the next step, Schneider, especially, thought the offense needed a downfield weapon it didn’t have. I agree: Seattle will be very good without Harvin—maybe even a Super Bowl team. But he gives the offense a dimension few teams have.
Also, former Seahawk safety Deon Grant has decided to end a career that included three seasons in Seattle and a Super Bowl championship with the Giants.
