911 service iffy, here are alternate numbers

UPDATE 7:45 a.m.: 911 service appears to have been restored in Snohomsh County. Dispatchers now advise calling 911 to report emergencies. If that doesn’t work, use the 10-digit backup numbers listed below.

Emergency 911 service was down in Snohomish County on Thursday morning, mirroring trouble throughout Washington and Oregon.

Until the problem is fixed, people in need of police, fire and other emergency services are urged to call 10-digit backup numbers.

For Everett and most of north and east county, which is served by SNOPAC, that’s 425-407-3970.

For south county, which is served by SNOCOM, that’s 425-775-4545.
