Here are committee assignments for south Snohomish County legislators in the 2015 session that started Monday:

The only new south county legislator, 21st Legislative District Democratic State Rep. Strom Peterson, has become vice chairman of the environment committee. Peterson, who recently left the Edmonds City Council, also is on the House committee on local government and the committee on the capital budget.

The district’s other representative, Democrat Lillian Ortiz-Self, is vice chairwoman of the Education Committee and a member of the Transportation Committee and the committee on early learning and human services. Ortiz-Self won her first full term in November after joining the legislature by appointment a year ago.

The 21st District includes most of Edmonds, unincorporated areas north of Edmonds and Lynnwood and northeast of Lynnwood, all of Mukilteo and part of south Everett.

Democratic 32nd District State Rep. Ruth Kagi continues as chairwoman of the House committee on early learning and human services and as a member of the Appropriations Committee.

The other 32nd District representative, Democrat Cindy Ryu has become deputy majority whip. She continues as vice chairwoman of the committee on business and financial services and as a member of the Rules Committee and the committee on technology and economic development. She has added a position on the Finance Committee.

The 32nd District includes Lynnwood, Woodway and nearby unincorporated areas of southwest Snohomish County, parts of Edmonds and Mountlake Terrace, all of Shoreline and part of northwest Seattle.

Democratic 1st Legislative District Rep. Luis Moscoso is vice chairman of the House Transportation Committee and a member of the Public Safety Committee and the committee on commerce and gaming.

The other 1st Legislative District representative, Democrat Derek Stanford is vice chairman of the Capital Budget Committee and a member of the committee on business and financial services and the committee on agriculture and natural resources.

The 1st Legislative District including most of Mountlake Terrace, all of Brier and Bothell, unincorporated areas of Snohomish County north and east of Bothell, part of Kirkland and unincorporated areas of King County between Bothell and Kirkland.

In the Republican-controlled State Senate, Democratic 32^nd District Sen. Maralyn Chase continues as ranking minority member of the committee on trade and economic development. She has joined the Rules Committee. She also is a member of the committee on natural resources and parks.

Democratic 21st Legislative District State Sen. Marko Liias has become ranking minority member of the Senate committee on government operations and state security (a committee whose work includes that of the former committee on government operations and elections), assistant ranking minority member of the Transportation Committee and a member of the Higher Education Committee. Liias recently won his first four-year term in the Senate after moving to the Senate by appointment a year ago. He had served in the House of Representatives from 2008 to 2014.

Democratic 1st Legislative District Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe is Democratic caucus vice chairwoman. She continues as ranking minority member of the Senate committee on early learning and K-12 education and a member of the committee on natural resources and parks.
