Was not invited, was not going

I have received an e mail off your recent editorial on the U.S. Open invitation to legislators. (“U.S. Open field trip permission slip for legislators.”) For the record, I have no memory of receiving an invitation. It may have been one of those emails I moved past, quickly, however, because I had no intention of attending the event. To make this simple, I do not, nor did I ever intend to go to the U.S. Open as an invited guest, nor as an attendant paying his own way. If you wanted to know that, you could have simply called or had your reporter call.
