EVERETT — Filing week is now open for candidates seeking elected office in Snohomish County.
Those interested in filing for candidacy can do so until 5 p.m. Friday. You must be a registered voter to file. Filing fees equal one percent of the position’s annual salary.
Candidates seeking federal seats, statewide seats, or superior court positions must file through the Secretary of State’s office, either online via https://tinyurl.com/5fwurs9r or in person at 416 Sid Snyder Ave. in Olympia.
Candidates seeking local positions, such as county council or city council seats, must file through the county’s election office. Candidates can file at https://tinyurl.com/3y2rt5zn or in person at 3000 Rockefeller Ave. in Everett. Declarations of candidacy can also be sent by email, mail or fax to the county election’s office. The primary election will take place Aug. 5. The general election is on Nov. 4.
