EVERETT — Authorities are seeking anybody who witnessed or has information about a hit-and-run collision that killed a 44-year-old California man early Saturday morning in Arlington.
Just before 7 a.m. Saturday, Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a pedestrian fatality in the 1500 block of Pioneer Highway, the press release said.
Detectives believe that some time between Friday and Saturday morning, a vehicle struck the man and fled. The pedestrian had traveled from SeaTac Airport to Arlington using public transportation, and was walking with his luggage to a family member’s home.
The pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will confirm the victim’s identity and the cause and manner of death.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen the man walking in the area, witnessed the incident, or noticed a vehicle matching the description of an Infiniti or Nissan sedan or sports coupe to contact detectives. Investigators are particularly interested in a vehicle with front passenger-side damage and a missing passenger-side mirror.
Anyone with information is urged to call 911, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 425-388-3845, or email Sgt. William Westsik at william.westsik@co.snohomish.wa.us.
