787 tally hits 490 after deal for 15 jets

The Boeing Co. posted requests for another 15 of its 787s from an undisclosed customer on its orders Web site Thursday, bringing the Dreamliner’s lifetime order tally to 490. Boeing added a total of 46 new orders this week, including previously announced orders for Continental Airlines and Aviation Lease and Finance Co. On Thursday, the plane maker announced a deal with Philippine Airlines for two Boeing 777-300 Extended Range jets. Additionally, Boeing listed requests for six 747s and six 777s from undisclosed customers in its weekly update. The company has won 112 orders for the year. Its stock increased 1.18 percent Thursday to close at $91.04.

Premera tops in customer ratings

Premera Blue Cross ranks highest in customer satisfaction among health plans in the 13-state West region, according to a new survey by J.D. Power and Associates. The insurer covers more than 1.6 million people in four states. The J.D. Power survey also found that privately held Blue Cross or BlueShield-affiliated plans such as Mountlake Terrace-based Premera tend to rank higher for satisfaction among customers than publicly held firms.

Strong earnings lift Zumiez stock

After Zumiez Inc. posted a huge increase in income during the fourth quarter, the retailer’s stock rose nearly 6 percent Thursday. Shares gained $2.16 to close at $39.56. On Wednesday, the Everett-based company reported fourth-quarter net income of $11.3 million, 67 percent higher than the prior year’s fourth quarter.

Alderwood mall gets 3rd Starbucks

Starbucks fans won’t have to walk as far across Lynnwood’s Alderwood mall anymore for their coffee. The company’s third outlet at the mall is scheduled to open at 10 a.m. Tuesday, in the center court across from Macy’s. The mall’s other Starbucks stores are located just outside the Terraces food court and near the entrance to The Village in the Sears wing.

Treasure coins to be sold on TV

These coins were found on El Cazador, a Spanish brig-of-war that sank in early 1784 during a storm in the Gulf of Mexico as it attempted to reach then-Spanish-controlled Louisiana. The Franklin Mint has purchased about 360,000 coins recovered from the wreck of El Cazador. The cache will be offered for sale over a cable TV shopping network by the company, which usually produces its own lines of collectibles.

Garlic Jim’s opens dine-in outlet

Everett-based Garlic Jim’s Famous Gourmet Pizza opens its first dine-in restaurant Monday in West Seattle. To date, the fast-growing chain’s 38 other locations in five states have been for carryout or delivery service only. The new restaurant will offer a larger menu than other Garlic Jim’s and be able to seat up to 50 people.
