EVERETT — A newly constructed building on Colby Avenue is home to a branch of Banner Bank, along with the corporation’s Alderwood Commercial Banking Center.
The new building on the corner of 26th Street and Colby Avenue is the latest of 88 branch offices for Walla Walla-based parent company, Banner Corporation.
“The addition of the new Everett Banner Bank branch allows us to address the needs of this growing and vibrant community where we have long been active,” said the bank’s Senior Vice President Jim Reed Jr. in a statement. “We are extremely pleased to have an experienced team of bankers well known in the local marketplace opening our new branch. Their commitment and experience will serve the market well.”
Reed added: “Building this wonderful new facility during this period of economic uncertainty demonstrates our commitment to Everett and the soundness of Banner Bank. It is a great addition to the downtown area.”
The corporation reported a second-quarter net loss of $16.5 million in July, compared to a net loss of $52.3 million for the second quarter of 2008.
In addition to bank branches, Banner Corporation also operates 12 loan offices — and acts as the parent company of Islanders Bank in the San Juan Islands. Banner Bank has a presence in 28 counties across Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
Banner Bank Branch Manager Sue Gammell will manage the Colby branch. Commercial Banking Center Manager John Hulbert Jr. manages the commercial banking center.
