Kevin Johnson is the new chief executive officer at Lambert Gray Inc. a bath design and construction firm in Marysville.

Liz Olson is the new human resources administrator for the Port of Everett. She will be responsible for organizing and administering human resource programs and services to recruit, hire, develop and retire a qualified work force.

Events

A business networking breakfast sponsored by the Snohomish Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for June 23 at the Snohomish Boys &Girls Club, 402 Second St. Cost is $10 for members of the Snohomish, Monroe or Lake Stevens chambers. Call 360-586-2526 to register or get more information.

How the aerospace industry affects the local business community will the topic of an Everett Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at Everett Golf and Country Club, 1500 52nd St. SE. The event will also include recognition of local legislators.

A new open air market for crafters, artists, bakers, farmers, food vendors and others has opened behind the Everett Public Market building at the corner of California Avenue and Marine View Drive in Everett. Called Bayside Art &Farmers Market, it is owned by Gayle Tislow and will take place every Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. through September. New vendors are welcome. Workshops

Police, social service workers and the state attorney general’s office have joined forces to provide two free workshops on how to spot scams and con artists. The sessions will focus on current scams and how to avoid and how to safeguard financial information and other consumer fraud. The sessions will be 7 to 9 p.m. June 10 from at Smokey Point Home &Community Services Office, 3906 172nd St. NE, Arlington and again from 1 to 3 p.m. June 15 at the Washington State University extension office in McCollum Park at 600 128th St. SE in Everett.

Honors

The Holiday Inn Express Hotel &Suites in Marysville will feature the corporation’s new brand and signs intended to give the corporation a more contemporary look. In addition to new signs, there will be new lighting, landscaping and a new front desk.

Awards

Aecon Buildings of Lynnwood was honored recently by the Associated General Contractors of Washington as co-winner of its annual Grand Award for Safety. The company has gone nearly three years without a worker’s compensation claim and seven years without a time-loss accident, a record that earlier this year won the company state recognition.

Donations

The Mountlake Terrace branch of HomeStreet Bank has contributed $1,000 to the Housing and Transitional Services program of Volunteers of America’s Western Washington Chapter in Everett.

Local Verizon employees recently donated $10,000 worth of household items to domestic violence shelters in Washington. It was part of a nationwide effort that collected $450,000 worth of items around the country.
