The Boeing Co. has handed over to Turkish Airways its first 777-300 Extended Range jet.
The airplane is the first 777 directly purchased by Turkish Airways and the first of an order for 12 777-300ER aircraft.
“Turkish Airlines continues to grow as a global airline with the 777 helping us to expand into new markets in Asia and the Americas,” said Hamdi Topcu, Chairman of Turkish Airlines, in a statement.
With this delivery, Boeing is scheduled to deliver four additional 777-300ERs to Turkish Airlines by the end of 2010.
