Several Washington political leaders joined the rally, in a nearly coordinated effort to expound the advantages of the KC-767.
Rep. Norm Dicks, D-Wash., compared the competition to supply the U.S. Air Force with aerial refueling tankers to a card game.
“The other guy says they want to split the buy,” Dicks said. “Usually when you want to split the buy, you’re not very confident in your hand.”
Meanwhile, Rep. Jay Inslee, D-Wash., used a baseball analogy to describe the $40 billion bid process.
“The other fellas, they understand they’re sort of batting outside the box,” he said.
