The Wall Street Journal has named the Boeing Co.’s Carolyn Corvi to its “50 Women to Watch” 2008 list.
Corvi serves as vice president and general manager of Boeing’s airplane programs. She is charged with keeping the jet maker as lean as possible, earning her the nickname “Queen of Lean.” After implementing a moving production line for Boeing’s 737 in Renton, Corvi was asked to do the same for the company’s 777 and 747 assembly lines in Everett.
The 57-year-old joined the likes of Melinda Gates, co-founder of the Bill &Melinda Gates Foundation, Shelia Bair, chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., and Julie Larson-Green, Microsoft’s corporate vice president for Windows experience.
