Bothell pirate ship pillaged

The iconic pirate ship at Bothell’s Country Village was recently pillaged — the ship’s treasure chest, map and a hand-carved dragon were stolen off the play structure.

Country Village management says the ship has been at the funky shopping center since last year, when 83-year-old artist Rod Loveless finished construction.

Loveless has already started gathering items for a new treasure chest, and Country Village management is planning steps to make the installation vandal-proof.
