Bothell’s Microvision plans Redmond move

Microvision Inc., the maker of high-resolution vision and display systems, is moving from Bothell to Redmond in 2006. The company recently agreed to lease approximately 67,000 square feet of office space in Redmond, said Clete Casper of CarrAmerica Realty.

DreamWorks studio warns of losses

Less than a year after going public on the strength of hit films such as “Shrek,” DreamWorks Animation Inc. SKG is battling a DVD market slump that forced it to warn Monday of a loss in the second quarter. The company, also disclosed that it is the target of a securities probe into the trading of its stock and release of first-quarter results.

Ebbers forfeits riches to settle lawsuit

A judge gave her blessing Monday to a civil suit settlement under which former WorldCom chief Bernard Ebbers will forfeit nearly all his cash and personal assets – as much as $45 million. U.S. District Judge Denise Cote gave preliminary approval to the deal two days before Ebbers, 63, faces prison time on his criminal conviction in the record fraud.

New H-P printer halves printing time

Hewlett-Packard Co., striving to remain the market leader in computer printers, launched a new technology for inkjet printers Monday that cuts photo printing time in half. The first printer with a head made with the new technology will be a $199 machine that can print a 4-by-6-inch photo in 14 seconds. It will go on sale later this month.

T-bill rates mixed in Monday auction

The Treasury Department auctioned three-month bills Monday at a discount rate of 3.135 percent, down from 3.145 percent last week. Six-month bills were auctioned at a discount rate of 3.355 percent, up from 3.325 percent. The new rates understate the investor return – 3.204 percent for three-month bills, with a $10,000 bill selling for $9,920.75, and 3.46 percent for a six-month bill selling for $9,830.39. The Federal Reserve also said that the average yield for one-year Treasury bills, an index for changing adjustable rate mortgages, rose to 3.52 percent last week from 3.46.
