Everett Clinic adds new doctor

The Everett Clinic has welcomed Dr. Daniel Gonzalez-Dilan to its Occupational Medicine department. Gonzalez-Dilan is board certified in occupational and environmental medicine. He completed a residency in family medicine at the University of New Mexico and earned his medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Monroe landscaping business wins two environmental awards

Pacific Earth Works of Monroe was recently recognized with two 2014 Environmental Landscape Awards by the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals at its annual state convention. The University Village South Building project received a Grand Award. First Hill Street Car Facility project received an Award of Distinction. On both projects were project manager Mike Brandvold and foreman Ell Roy Oster.

Everett Clinic, foundation give $500,000 to YMCA

The Everett Clinic Foundation will give $150,000 and The Everett Clinic will give $350,000 over five years for a total gift of $500,000 to support YMCA of Snohomish County’s development plans. The gift supports the YMCA’s plans to break ground on a new location in Stanwood this summer as well as its plans to replace its Everett facility.

Webinar offered for churches, nonprofits

The Department of Revenue will offer a free webinar for churches and other nonprofit organizations from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. This webinar, geared to those new to the nonprofit industry, will address how eligible nonprofits can obtain and maintain a property tax exemption. Bluewater distilling owner to speak during series

Economic Alliance Snohomish County is launching a new event series. The Speaker Series will include nine luncheons that will rotate in location to various EASC investors around the county. February’s featured speaker is John Lundin of Bluewater Organic Distilling. The event is 12 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Buca di Beppo in Lynnwood. Click here for more information.

Charity, nonprofit symposium planned in Mount Vernon

The Secretary of State’s Corporations and Charities Division, the United Way of Skagit County, the Skagit Community Foundation and the Economic Development Association of Skagit County bring a charity and nonprofit education symposium to Mount Vernon from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 10 at the Best Western Skagit Valley Convention Center. PUD helps Marysville YMCA install solar panels

Installation is complete on a new solar energy system at the Marysville North County Family YMCA. Former Marysville YMCA board member Bob Graef instigated the idea of installing the solar panels. A grant funded through Snohomish County PUD’s Planet Power program made it possible. The system is expected to produce around 10,000 kilowatt hours annually.

Home improvement store undergoing renovation

McDaniel’s Do it Center in Snohomish and recently announced plans for a major store enhancement. The 30,000-square-foot store that went through an exterior facelift in 2009 is now ready to update the interior. The improvement project will take several months to complete but the business will remain open. A grand re-opening is scheduled for early April.

Auto glass repair shop owner pleads guilt to tax theft

The owner of a local auto glass repair shop, Andrew V. Onufreychuk, has pleaded guilty to first-degree theft and agreed to pay $142,000 in taxes after filing false business tax returns and stealing thousands of dollars in sales tax. Onufreychuk and his wife jointly own Andrews Auto Glass Inc, which has locations in Everett and Seattle.
