Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers has finished hiring his cabinet. He has appointed Barb Mock the director of the Department of Planning and Development Services. She has been the interim director since January. Nathan Kennedy is the new director of finance for Snohomish County. The Certified Public Accountant recently relocated to Snohomish County from Ohio.

Job fair planned in Monroe
The East Snohomish County Job Fair is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Monroe Boys and Girls Club, 261 Sky River Parkway, Monroe. Nearly 50 local employers and employment resource organizations will be participating in this event. Lynnwood’s Inspirus Credit Union donates $35,000 to schools
Inspirus Credit Union, which recently opened its newest branch in Lynnwood, has surprised local educators with flash funding donations totaling $35,000. The funding will benefit students at Beverly Elementary, Cedar Way Elementary, Chase Lake Elementary, College Place Elementary, Hazelwood Elementary, Meadowdale Elementary and Oak Heights Elementary, among others. In the last year, the credit union has donated over $102,000 to Washington schools.
Everett’s Vision Committeee deadline extended
The application deadline for volunteers for the City of Everett’s Vision Committee has been extended. The new deadline is now Friday. The Vision Committee will update the Vision 2025 report produced by a similar committee a decade ago. Interested volunteers can learn more at this website.
