Monroe’s Hide-a-Hose honored by state

Hide-a-Hose in Monroe has received an award from The Washington State Governor’s Committee on Disability Issues &Employment and the Washington State Business Leadership Network. The company was one of seven public and private employers statewide to be honored for their exemplary work recruiting, hiring, retaining and promoting individuals with disabilities.

Everett’s J. Matheson Gifts to donate to Housing Hope

In recognition of Small Business on Nov. 29, J. Matheson Gifts, Kitchen &Gourmet plans to donate 10 percent of total sales that day to Housing Hope of Snohomish County. The store is located at 2615 Colby Ave. in Everett. Small Business Saturday encourages the public to support small businesses within their own community.

Umpqua Bank, radio station partner on fulfilling wishes

Umpqua Bank has announced its partnership with 94.1 KMPS to help local families in need through its annual Wish Upon a Star program. The program, that grants wishes to Puget Sound individuals and families during the holiday season, has fulfilled more than $550,000 in wishes, ranging from basic needs to special requests, since the program was developed in 1998.

Tickets available for Lake Stevens chamber Holiday Gala

Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce will announce their 2014 Chamber Member of the Year and 2014 Business of the Year at a Holiday Gala at 6 p.m. on Dec. 5 at Lake Connor Park. Tickets are available online for $25 per person or $150 for a table of eight. For details go to www.lakestevenschamber.org.

Frontier to give $10 million to help small cities, towns

Frontier Communications has launched America’s Best Communities, a $10 million prize competition to stimulate growth and revitalization in small cities and towns across Frontier’s 27-state footprint. America’s Best Communities contest will help address the need for growth by identifying and investing in innovative ideas that small cities and towns can use to build and sustain their local economies.
