Ron Tilden, an accounting lecturer in the University of Washington Bothell’s School of Business, has been appointed to a three-year term on the board of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. Tilden helped launch the school’s accounting degree option that accepted its first students in 2008. He was also the recipient of the 2013 Distinguished Teaching Award.
First Toys ‘R Us Outlet store in state to open in Tulalip
The first Toys ‘R Us Outlet store in the state will open on Friday at the Seattle Premium Outlets, located at 10600 Quil Ceda Blvd. in Tulalip. The outlet will offer a unique assortment of toys at value prices not found at its full-size stores. Several sales, specials and giveaways are planned for the grand opening event.
Stanwood receives grant to launch visitor website
The Stanwood City Council officially accepted a $3,500 grant from the Port of Seattle to launch a visitor information website focused around Stanwood. The website, www.discoverportsusan.com, will provide a one-stop resource about where to stay, dine and enjoy the Stanwood community and surrounding areas.
