Workshops aims to help entreprenuers 50 and older
The U.S. Small Business Administration and AARP are renewing their Summer of Encore Mentoring educational events targeting entrepreneurs over the age of 50 who want to start or grow their small business. No in-person events are scheduled in Washington state but you can visit www.sba.gov/encore for free online courses and other resources.
Economic Alliance obtains $670,000 to help support job expansion
Economic Alliance Snohomish County secured $670,000 in cash grants from the State Department of Commerce in 2015 to support expansion projects at four Snohomish County employers. These projects included Juno Therapeutics of Bothell for cancer therapy; Crane Aerospace of Lynnwood for jet engine components; Heroux Devtek of Everett for landing gear; and Universal Aerospace of Arlington for metal finishing. The projects represent 100 new jobs.
Open house scheduled for Bothell’s Center for Bird and Exotic Animals
The Center for Bird and Exotic Animal Medicine in Bothell is hosting an open house from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at 11401 NE 195th St., Bothell. It will include tours, education and fun activities. Raffles and a dunk tank at the event will help raise money for the Center’s Compassionate Care Fund.
