Eddie Tidwell has been promoted to store manager of Haggen Food &Pharmacy in Marysville. After serving in the Army, Tidwell join Haggen in 1996 as a night stocker at the Edmonds TOP Food store. Promoted regularly, he most recently was interim store manager at Haggen in Mount Vernon.

Five officers have received promotions at Frontier Bank. They are Mary Jobe to senior vice president, real estate division; Tony Miller to loan officer, main office; Serena Johnson, to loan support officer, main office; Dalene Bley to senior vice president, product development; and Scott Nolan, vice president, compliance manager.

Amy Spain, executive director of the Snohomish County Tourism Bureau in Everett recently received the Washington Society of Association Executives’ Rhinoceros Award, recognizing exemplary service to the society.

Doug Wilson is the new structural project manager for DCI Engineers, civil and structural engineers, in the company’s Everett office. He earned his master of science degree in civil engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and has 10 years experience in public and private sector projects.

Anne Mitchell of the Snohomish Health District has been awarded the William MacDonald Leadership and Personal Development Award from the Everett Clinic Foundation. She received $6,750 for a Nurse Family Partnership Program that helps single teenage mothers who may be at risk for a number of problems such as homelessness and domestic violence. The goal of the program is to increase knowledge and provide more options to public health nurses who work with this target group.

Dr. Michael Stewart retires June 1 as senior vice president and chief medical officer from Sonus Pharmaceuticals in Bothell. He will continue to work for the company as a consultant. His duties will be given to Dr. Elaine Waller and Dr. Richard Daifuku.

Events

The benefits to joining the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce will be presented in an overview 4-5:15 p.m. June 13 at the chamber office, 3815 196th SW, Suite 136, Lynnwood. Stevens Sleep Center in Edmonds recently received program accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. The sleep disorders center, directed by Dr. Robert Cox and Dr. Robert McCoy, is located at 7320 216th St. SW, Suite 40.

The financial planning process will be the topic of Tuesday’s personal finance show on KSER 90.7 FM, Snohomish County’s public radio station. The show, hosted by Chuck Noel, begins at 4:30 p.m. and will feature guests from the financial planning association and Edward Jones.

Classes

Register June 3 for summer quarter classes at ITT Technical Institute’s Everett campus. Applicants are being accepted for associate degree programs in electronics technology, multi-media, computer drafting and network systems. Learn how to buy or sell a business through Business For Sale Academy, a nonprofit group. The free online class is scheduled for 6 p.m. June 8 at www.USABizMart.com/ education.

The Design-Build Institute of America will teach its principles of Design-Build project delivery course June 8-9 at the University of Washington Center for Urban Horticulture. The course is a requirement for anyone interested in achieving a Design-Build designation title. It focuses on team concepts and defines the key players in the design-build team and primary roles and responsibilities of each player. For information, call 202-682-0110.

Good deeds

Haggen Food &Pharmacy recently forwarded $50,637 in customer donations to Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle. The company offered a chance to donate to the hospital during a check-out line promotion earlier this month. The donations, up 11 percent from last year, will support uncompensated care at the hospital, enabling children to receive medical care regardless of each family’s ability to pay.
