Tawna Crispin has been promoted to director of the Heatherwood Child Development Center for the Southeast Family Branch of the YMCA of Snohomish County. She will oversee day-to-day operations of the center, ensuring high-quality care for children 6 weeks to 5 years.
Megan Franklin has been promoted to the director of support services at the Everett Family Branch of the YMCA of Snohomish County. In her new position Franklin will direct the development, execution and evaluation of all areas of administrative support as well as manage the Annual Kick-Off for Kids benefit auction.
Debra Wells has joined the Everett Family Branch of the YMCA of Snohomish County as the child care director. In her new position Wells be responsible for the development and oversight of school-age, early childhood education and summer camp child care programs.

A computer recycling program to support Earth Day and help local schools will be held at Staples locations from Thursday until May 8. People can bring in used computer hardware for safe recycling. Stevens Pavilion, a new medical building at Stevens Hospital that opened late last year, has won an office development of the year award from the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, a professional commercial real estate association. The association’s state chapter had called the pavilion an outstanding example of cutting-edge office development.
Snohomish County is accepting applications from public and nonprofit agencies for projects that assist tourism development and promotion. The program is funded through the tax on hotel and motel rooms. Funds will be available around July 15, and will be awarded on a competitive basis. Past grants have been about $5,000.
