Kristoffer "Kit" Tangen and Bill Gasperetti are new vice presidents of income property and construction lending for Everett-based Cascade Bank. A resident of Bellevue, Tangen will serve borrowers in Snohomish and King counties. Gasperetti, who previously worked for another local bank, will serve borrowers in eastern King County.
Stu Schell has been named the new community services counselor of Purdy and Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery in Lynnwood. He previously was a crisis chaplain for Fire District No. 7 and a pastor in local churches.
Lori Bielinski, a 1980 graduate of Lynnwood High School, has been named the executive director of the Washington State Chiropractic Association. A licensed massage therapist, Bielinksi was a senior policy analyst for former state Insurance Commissioner Deborah Senn.
John Doolittle has joined the Snohomish County Economic Development Council as a research assistant. He also will assist the council’s staff in responding to inquiries from businesses interested in locating in the county. A volunteer with the Edmonds School District, Doolittle has more than 15 years of planning and market research experience.
A Comfort Inn hotel recently opened at 4117 196th St. SW in Lynnwood. Owned and operated by Ephrathan Inc. of Lynnwood, the former Holiday Inn Express underwent $200,000 in renovations to all 46 rooms, including new furniture and decor and the addition of wireless Internet access.
Get Up and Go! is a new fitness training business started by Chris Ann Scott, a certified personal trainer. Scott, who also is a part-time fitness instructor at the Mukilteo Family YMCA, works with people over the age of 50 in their homes. The Snohomish County Tourism Bureau will talk about the hotel-motel tax at its next quarterly tourism forum, noon-2 p.m. March 9. Local officials will talk about how the lodging tax is collected and distributed and how nonprofit organizations can apply for funds from it.
